About British Tutoring

Jack has been tutoring for over seven years since graduating with a Masters in History from the University of Oxford.

He offers specialized courses to equip students with the essential skills required for successful entry into British private schools and wider preparation for KS2, KS3, iGCSE, GCSE and A level.

Below is an outline of the courses offered. Each course is designed to provide targeted support for student success.

British 7+, 11+ and 13+ Entry into Private Schools:

  • 7+: Focuses on teaching and reinforcing knowledge for successful results in this entry exam. This includes introducing different question types and building confidence for English, Mathematics, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning. Interview practice is also offered.

  • 11+: Preparation for entrance exams to selective primary and junior schools. Focus on English, Mathematics, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning.

  • 13+: Support for entry into senior schools, covering subjects including English, Maths, Science, and more, often with practice in specific school entrance papers.

KS2 and KS3 Tuition:

  • Focused support for Key Stage 2 in English, Maths, and Science. Covers core curriculum topics, SATs preparation, and techniques to build confidence and improve performance.

  • Structured tuition for Key Stage 3 students in English, Maths, and Science. Emphasis on strengthening foundational knowledge, developing study skills, and preparing for GCSE-level work.

GCSE and iGCSE Tuition:

  • Comprehensive guidance for General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) and International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) courses in English, History, and Geography. Includes syllabus coverage, exam preparation, and help with coursework.

A-Level Tuition:

  • Advanced tuition for A-Level courses in English, History, and Geography. Focuses on in-depth understanding, critical analysis, and preparation for final exams.

Oxbridge Entry Support:

  • Specialized coaching for applicants to Oxford and Cambridge universities. Includes help with personal statements, interview preparation, and subject-specific coaching to meet the rigorous entry standards.

UKiset, ISEB Pre-Test and IELTS Preparation:

  • Support for the UK Independent Schools Entry Test (UKiset), focusing on skills in Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, and Mathematics.

  • Preparation for the Independent Schools Examination Board (ISEB) Pre-Test, which assesses candidates’ abilities in areas such as English, Maths, and reasoning.

  • Training for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam, which includes preparation for all four sections: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.
